Homework 3rd September 2010

September 3rd, 2010

Wow, we’re back in school and settling in nicely – Mrs Jones is enjoying the move to year 5 and we hope you all are too! :)

Maths homework this week is Test 1 for Miss Price and Mrs Jones’ group and times tables for Mr Prytherch’s group.  Next week you will have an additional homework but we thought we’d ease you all in gently. :)

Have a good weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Miss Price, Mrs Jones and Mr Prytherch.

Wow – we’ve made it to the holidays!  Have a good one and enjoy yourselves because when you come back in September the whip will be cracking… :)

Thank you so much for all of our lovely cards and gifts, I might already have tucked into some of the chocolates and the box of Maltesers has gone… thanks Dan, they were yummy! :)

Have a good summer, behave yourselves for your mums and dads and we’ll see you, raring to go, in September. :)

Homework 2nd July

July 1st, 2010

Homework this week is to tell us your favourite things about Year 5.  You can present this any way you like – you can do a mind map, powerpoint, write a story about life in Year 5, draw pictures showing your favourite things, make us a poster promoting Year 5… whatever you like!  We’d like to share you favourite things with the Year 4s on Going Up Day so they need to be presented beautifully.  This is due in on Monday.

Maths homework for Mrs Watterson’s group is Test 30.  This was given out a day early and is not due in until Monday, but we will accept early admission if you are feeling super keen!!! :)

All reading books should now have been returned to school and the children will not be reissued with a book before next September.  Obviously we still like them to keep up with their reading over the holidays so we will still be encouraging reading but you will have to read a book from home or a library book.

Have a good weekend. See you Monday! :)

Homework 25th June

June 25th, 2010

Homework this week is to complete the tarsia jigsaw you have been given.  You must find the words which are synonyms (have the same meaning) and put them together to complete the jigsaw.  This should be stuck in your homework book over a double page spread and returned on Monday.

Maths homework for Mrs Watterson’s maths group is Test 29 and is again to be returned on Monday.

Mr Prytherch’s class did a fabulous assembly this morning – well done 5JP for organising such a show! :)   We all enjoyed it.

Costumes need to be in for the show on Monday please.  They should be labelled on the bag and on the clothes themselves in case they get mixed up.

Have a good weekend. :)

Homework 18th June 2010

June 18th, 2010

Maths homework this week for Mrs Watterson’s group is test 28.  Due in on Monday as usual please.

There is no other homework this week as the children had so much to carry home today that we thought it would be cruel to give them something extra to carry!  Hopefully their mugs will make it all home in one piece!!! :)

Our only spelling star this week is Courtney – well done you for getting three weeks in a row correct! :)   Good girl. :)

Lots of things to remember for next week.

Monday: 5TW are in church so will need a packed lunch, a coat and suitable shoes for walking in.  Also suncream if the weather is hot and plenty to drink. :)

Tuesday:  Non-uniform day. We would like pupils to bring in bottles for the tombola stalls on the 22nd as their non-uniform contribution.

Wednesday:  Sports day – so the children will all need PE kits that day and some pennies to spend at “Sports Day Plus”.  Don’t forget suncream!  Pupils are also asked to bring in £1 for a balloon race which has been very successful in previous years.  We have had balloons found as far away as Ireland!  We would be very grateful for more offers of help to run the stalls and to set up during the morning.

Thursday:  Sports day back up if wet on Wednesday.

Friday:  5JP assembly.  5JP are looking forward to presenting their assembly on keeping healthy for year 5 parents and families on Friday 25th June at 9.10 a.m.

I’m sure there are other things I’ve forgotten… if so I’ll add them. :)

Thanks to Mrs Preston for reporting the broken links for the spellings – I’ll get them fixed this weekend all being well. :)

Have a good weekend, see you all on Monday,

Miss Price, Mrs Watterson and Mr Prytherch.

Hello Ewan and Billy!

June 4th, 2010

Hi, Ewan, Billy and Ewan’s family! :)   I hope you’ve had a good week with Billy and that he’s been well behaved. :)   I saw your post about bringing Billy back today, however – I didn’t see it until… today!  There won’t be anybody in school until Monday so as long as you’re happy to have him over the weekend that’s fine and we’ll see you on Monday.  If you do need to drop him off early for any reason, if you write me another message on here I’ll check it tomorrow morning and I can give you a ring then if we need to arrange to meet at school for me to pick him up.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday – not long left now, but only six weeks to go until the next one! :)

See you Monday, Miss Price.

Homework 28th May 2010

May 28th, 2010

Homework this week is a punctuation activity,  The children informed me as they were giving them out that they’d already had the first half of this so they should find it nice and easy for the half term!!!  Must have been given on a day when I wasn’t in school – sorry about that!  Anyway, all they have to do is punctuate the sentences correctly using the punctuation given by each sentence.

Maths homework for Mrs Watterson’s class is a treat – a double sided maths test to keep you out of trouble over the holidays! :)

Have a great holiday evryone and we’ll see you when you get back. :)
